LEARNING ROBOTICS ONE BROKEN PROTOTYPE AT A TIME

I take things
apart to see
how they work.

I'm Iftekhairul — a CSE student at UIU who ended up spending most of my free time on robotics and embedded systems anyway. I learn best by building things, taking them apart, and figuring out why they broke.

About

I like taking things apart to understand how they work, then building something new from it. That curiosity doesn't stay in one lane — I'm always chasing the next thing to learn, the next idea to explore. Understanding how is just as exciting to me as building what.

Right now that means embedded systems, PCB design, and slowly working my way into ROS and robot perception through actual hands-on projects instead of just reading about them.

QUADRUPED ROBOT — "DOGGO"

ONGOING

A SpotMicro-style four-legged robot inspired by Boston Dynamics' Spot. Raspberry Pi handles onboard compute, LiDAR does local mapping and obstacle avoidance, and every gait gets tested in Gazebo before it touches the real hardware.

Started 2026 Learning ROS workflows, basic SLAM, sim-to-real transfer
Raspberry Pi LiDAR Gazebo ROS Servo Motors

LIGHTNING & THUNDERSTORM DETECTOR

2024

A DIY PCB built around the AS3935 lightning sensor to catch the static-electricity buildup that precedes a thunderstorm — paired with a BME280 for environmental context and LoRa for range. Gave multiple early alerts ahead of real storms.

Type Personal build Key takeaway Signal filtering & sensor calibration
AS3935 BME280 ESP32 LoRa DIY PCB / EasyEDA
★ WINNER — SCIENCE FEST 2024

SMART DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM

2025

A servo-actuated door lock that authenticates users via RFID before granting access — my first real dive into access-control logic and secure authentication on embedded hardware.

Type Personal build Key takeaway RFID auth & access-control logic
ESP32 RFID Reader/Tag Arduino IDE Sensors
